Connect your Mind Body
Emotions are energy in motion, and your body responds to the way you act, think and feel. Sound Therapy has been used for thousands of years in cultures world-wide as a tool for healing. It can help release held energy in the body, creating a sense of deep calm and peace. With a focus on nervous system maintenance, this accessible meditative modality can be very helpful to people who are experiencing stress, anxiety and life changes. The gentle tones can help to focus the mind, foster a stronger mind body connection, balance moods, and reduce fatigue.
Once you arrive at the Brain Body Balance office, the practitioner (Nara) will work with you to create a specific plan of applied sound therapy based on your individual needs. It is helpful to arrive to your appointment with an intention or focus for your session. Avoiding caffeine and being well hydrated enhances the relaxation and therapeutic benefits. Clients lay fully clothed on a comfortable massage table, and have the option to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of a Far Infrared heating pad, deepening the benefits of the experience.
How it works:
By strategically and intentionally placing therapeutic-grade singing bowls on the client’s body and using gentle measured strikes with a mallet, the practitioner sends soothing vibrations deep into muscle tissue, while the pleasant harmonic tones lull them into a deep state of peace. The vibrations from the bowls increase blood flow to major muscles, reduce muscle tension, and gently reduce chronic pain. The gentle sounds and vibrations help to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to relax the client. Most clients slip into a Theta brainwave state (meditation, sleep, deep relaxation) after 20 minutes, and they end their 50 minute sessions feeling refreshed, lighter and more resilient.
